Biography Book Report Due _____________ Writing a report helps you learn about a topic or book, organize information, and express your thoughts clearly on paper. You are to write a book report after reading a book about a famous person. Your book report should have at least three paragraphs, be typed or handwritten, and include the following parts: Title (name of the person) 1st Paragraph Include the name of the famous person you read about and the author of the book. Write why you chose to read about this person and why they are important in history. nd 2 Paragraph Write about this person’s early life and their family. Tell about an important event in their early life and why it is important. rd 3 Paragraph Tell what this person is known for. Include their most important accomplishments and why they are famous. This paragraph must include details and examples of their accomplishments. This paragraph should contain the most information and may be written as two paragraphs if they are famous for many accomplishments. th 4 Paragraph In your words, tell why this person is important. Tell how the world is different because of what they did. Would you like to have known this person? Give your opinion and explain why. Plagiarism - the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work. If any sentences or parts of sentences are plagiarized, the student will receive an F (no credit) for the book report. Students must write original sentences using words that are appropriate language for a 4th grade student. Bio Cube Students will fill out the attached planning sheet and then enter their information at the following website. Students have completed a Bio Cube about themselves and will be able to complete this activity independently in 20 minutes. After completing the Bio Cube, print, assemble and return to class by the biography due date. Choose a book that you think you will like. Read the entire book. If you just browse the pages your report will be incomplete and weak. Take notes as you read. Write down short notes on important things that happen in your character’s life. Summarize. Don’t try to tell everything that happens in the book, give highlights of the person’s life.
