Announcement of the
Project Based Personnel Exchange Programme between the
Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Science Council, Taipei
1. General Informations:

Beginning of the Programme:
1st April of the same year
The normal duration of the programme is two years.
The aim of the Project Based Personnel Exchange Programme between the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences and the National Science Council, Taipei is to intensify the cooperation
between the two countries by promoting the exchange of scientists who are working in similar
research topics. This programme not only increases collaboration between the research teams
concerning special projects, but as well helps young scientists explore possibilities for
international cooperation. Priority will be given to projets in which young scientists are
involved in research and in mutual visits.
The programme on the one hand is arranged for scientists from universities or research
institutes under the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, on the other hand for those scientists
who work for universities or research institutes who are generally supported by the NSC.
Under this agreement the sending party will cover the travel costs and the host side will cover
the costs for hospitality (see point 4).
2. Requirements for the application:
The requirement for applying for the Project Based Personnel Exchange Programme is a
concrete research project on which scientists from both countries work together. The
application should include the scientific aim of this projects (methods, support of young
scientists, novelty, etc.) concerning the cooperation between Hungaria and Taiwan.

4. Grants offered: including internatoinal airfare between Taiwan and Hungary, and
living subsistance during research period.

Filling in your application form please do consider the following items:
 Deadline for new proposals is the 15th February each year. Unfortunately, applications that
are not handed in at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences by due date could not be
considered and have to be rejected.
 Please hand in your application in duplicate.
 The application has to be filled in detailed and in English. Please do remember:
1. The application form has to be filled in and signed by both sides.
2. The confirmation of the respective university/research institute concerning all
requirements has to be asked for.
 Please enclose the following attachments to your application:
1. Curriculum Vitae of all participants of the project.
2. Detailed descrition of the mutual project (maximal 4 sides).
3. List of the most important publications of the working group.
4. For the release of the second year: interim report of the present results of the project
(until the 15th February of next year).
