Introduction:
Let me begin by saying that we were very pleased that you have shown interest in our English Language School.
The Plymouth English Centre was founded in 1986 and became part of Tellus English Centres, a subsidiary of
Tellus Group Limited, in March 2006. Although we also offer other services such as translation, interpreting,
proof-reading and cultural awareness programmes, the Centre’s core activity is providing all year round, high
quality, systematic and focused English language tuition in a friendly atmosphere.
The Centre is located in the heart of the ancient, maritime city of Plymouth, close to services such as cafes,
shops, banks and post offices, and only a five minutes' walk from the city's shopping area and ten from the
seafront. Ample facilities for parking can be found very near the school, which is also situated on the main route
for local bus services. As Plymouth is situated in the South West of England, the cost of living here is much lower
than in London and the other big cities in the United Kingdom.
Our programmes have been very successful and the curriculum includes a number of courses, both group and
individual, ranging from standard to more specialized and tailor-made ones in order to meet all our clients' needs.
All students are given a placement test on their arrival at school so as to both guarantee a placement in a
suitable group and sufficient information for their teachers of their individual language needs. In addition, we also
provide our students with carefully selected and safe home stay, self-catering or hotel accommodation.
Our classrooms and student utility areas are modern and well-appointed, and are used as an integral part of our
structured and systematic learning programme. All our teachers are qualified and well experienced in teaching
English as a foreign or second language.
We accept students of all ages and welcome everyone regardless of their sex, race, religion or orientation of any
kind.
In order to provide language support for work experience and internship students prior to and during their work
placements, The Tellus Plymouth English Centre works closely together with two other Tellus Group subsidiaries,
Work Experience UK (WEUK), which specializes in the organization and management of vocational work
experience programmes such as 'Leonardo da Vinci' and 'Erasmus' and internships; Tellus Training, which
provides Professional and Management Training courses; and Tellus Employment Agency (TEAL), an agency
specializing in sourcing qualified personnel for highly skilled jobs in the UK. In addition, we also work in close
relationship with Institute of Leadership Management (ILM, one of the top organizations in professional training),
who run recognised certification courses on a wide variety of professional and business-related subjects.
Our commission rates are simple and easy to follow. We pay commission on administration and tuition fees. We
have two commission rates for the year 2007/08.
Winter rate of 25% on all bookings: Group Discounts for agents in addition to commission. Send seven people
on any programme and get one free. Our winter period covers bookings that take place between October 1st and
May 31st each year.
Summer rate of 20% on all bookings: Group Discounts for agents in addition to commission. Send nine people
on any programme and get one free. Our summer period covers bookings that take place between June 1st and
September 30th each year.
Terms:
Commission is only payable to agents registered with us
Commission is only paid if the list price as advertised on this website is paid i.e. no commission on additional negotiated
discounts not stated on this website
Commission on work experience programmes is only payable on single applicant fees not the group discount fees
Commission on ELT group booking is only paid on the paying participants not the free participants
Commission is not paid on accommodation, transport, exam fees, insurance or cultural programmes which are deducted at
advertised cost to determine the net to be eligible for commission
Group discounts i.e. free places are only available on ELT programmes; Work Experience Programmes are not included in the
free places
