Press bulletin – Poleko and Komtechnika Trade Fairs, 10 October 2014 Ecology in unity with economy There is no doubt that economic progress affects the development of ecology: it allows to take better care of the environment, develop "green" technologies, save resources and maximise recycling. The POLEKO and KOMTECHNIKA exhibition as well as a rich programme of events create the opportunity to explore the economic and ecological potential of Poland and other countries participating in the fair. Market news, sharing experiences, trends and discussions – it is worth to be here! It is said that a fair is a barometer of what is happening in the industry. Undeniably, POLEKO and KOMTECHNIKA are a presentation of directions and trends of what is happening in the sectors of energy, renewable energy sources, waste and recycling, land recultivation and revitalisation as w water and sewage. During the fair, we can not only learn about new technologies and solutions that can positively affect the development of a company, but also take part in debates - how to develop in a sustainable manner respecting the environment? Debate with Ministers A unique opportunity to discuss the future in the context of past experience, both economic and ecological, will be a debate opening this year's POLEKO fairs – “Ecology in unity with economy in a political perspective”. It will be attended by Ministers of Environment: Maciej Grabowski, Maciej Nowicki, Tomasz Podgajniak, Jan Szyszko and Stanisław Żelichowski. The moderator of the conference, which will officially open the 26th POLEKO fairs, will be prof. Andrzej Mizgajski. DATE AND VENUE: 14.10.2014, Hall 15, conference room 1.C NFEP&WM: 15.10., Hall15, conference room 1.B Waste management Poland produces an average of 58 million m3 of municipal waste, 130 million tons of industrial waste and 1 million tons of hazardous waste a year. How to wisely utilise or dispose of that waste? The latest solutions and experiences in this field will be presented at a conference in the RIPOK Zone, during debates on the Recycling Forum, or the discussion in the Recycling Logistics Exhibition. Also the Envicon Congress preceding the POLEKO fair should not be forgotten. RIPOK ZONE – this year’s novelty at POLEKO. The organisers of the Zone are Poznań International Fair and Ekorum. RIPOK Zone is a place for meetings and conferences on waste management. On the first day of the fair (October 14) during the panel discussions, RIPOKs will be discussed at four stages: among others, topics such as waste incineration plants, composting of green waste, MBP plants and landfills. Lectures will feature contributions from representatives of installations that were built or are being built. The topic of the second day (October 15) will be "Effective municipal waste management - development of RDS Jarocin". DATE AND VENUE: 14-15.10.2014 Hall 5, conference room (sector F) RECYCLING FORUM – it is a three-day series of conferences, during which practitioners will discuss industry issues and directions of its development. The organisers of the event are: the editors of the "Recykling" magazine and the Poznań International Fair. The first day of the Forum will be dedicated to issues related to collection, recovery and recycling of waste. In addition, a representative of the European Environmental Bureau will examine the European Commission document COM (2014) 398 "Towards a circular economy: A zero waste program for Europe". 2 On the second day of the Forum, topics related to collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and used batteries will be presented. Among others, a representative of the Chief Inspectorate for Environmental Protection (CIEP) was invited to make a speech. Papers presented during the final day of the Forum will be dedicated to recycling of vehicles and scrap metal. A representative of the Polish Organisation of Oil Industry and Trade will discuss the new requirements for the collection and recycling of lubricant waste. DATE AND VENUE: 14-16.10.2014, Hall 5, conference room (sector B) RECYCLING LOGISTICS EXHIBITION – this is the second edition of the event organised by the editors of "Logistyka Odzysku" and the Poznań International Fair. The program of the meeting includes practices related to the logistics of recovery on the example of the largest Japanese companies, reporting of payments of environmental fees, compilations of data on produced waste, reports related to packaging and environmental education in practice. DATE AND VENUE: 15.10.2014, Hall 5, conference room (sector C) International Environmental Protection Congress ENVICON is a proven forum attended by representatives of the central and local government administration, representatives of Polish and foreign companies and experts in the fields of waste and waste water management. DATE AND VENUE: 13-14.10.2014, Hall 15, conference room: 1.A, 1.F and 1.G Know-how for the RES industry Energy autumn – that is how what is planned for the October POLEKO can be briefly summarised. There will be a few events that combine learning with practice and provide a forum for all looking for practical forms of implementing the principles of sustainable energy development. Clean Energy Forum, Globe Full of Energy or the international conference "Building green bridges between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China" all these events are interesting and noteworthy. 3 CLEAN ENERGY FORUM – 3 days with renewable energy. Conferences will be devoted to trends, technologies and the development prospects of the renewable energy industry. Topics of debates are e.g.: renewable energy support systems in Poland (the Act on RES), RES auction support system - German experience, micro systems and small systems, the risk for the development of Polish photovoltaics, PV system design using mobile applications, Polish and foreign experience in extraction of shale gas, biomass application prospects, (micro) biomass CHP for (almost) everyone, and hybrid systems: photovoltaic panel + heat pump. The organisers are: editors of the "Czysta Energia" monthly and the Poznań International Fair. DATE AND VENUE: 14-16.10.2014, Hall 7A, conference room GLOBE FULL OF ENERGY – energising meeting with renewable energy sources prepared by the editors of GLOBEnergia in cooperation with the Poznań International Fair. In a specially built canopy, experts will discuss issues related to modern heating technology, heat pumps, photovoltaics, energy management and prosument issues. Especially noteworthy is "20 minutes on the power industry" ("20 minut o energetyce"), where editors will briefly present an overview of the most important market information. GLOB FULL OF ENERGY will feature full interaction of the organisers, invited experts and the audience. There will also be a range of competitions with prizes entitled CIRCLE FULL OF ENERGY. DATE AND VENUE: 14-16.10.2014, Hall 7A, conference room The conference organized by the Ministry of Environment entitled "Building green bridges between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China" is a discussion in the international circle on the implementation of green technologies. The aim of the conference is to provide participants with a platform to facilitate the dialogue between local governments and businesses (enterprises). The morning session will be devoted to sharing experiences (presentation of Greenevo – the Green Technology Accelerator), afternoon – B2B meetings dedicated in particular for small and medium enterprises. The topic of "Building green bridges between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China" will be discussed by the heads of departments and secretaries of the state of the Ministries responsible for environmental protection and climate change from Albania, Lithuania, China, Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland. This year's conference is a continuation of a series of meetings of representatives of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China under the so-called 16+1 Initiative DATE AND VENUE: 16.10.2014, Hall 15, conference room 1.F 4 Protection and safety Ecology also covers human safety and protection against various threats. Hence, the presence of the State Fire Service at POLEKO is not surprising. This year, the stands of the State Fire Service will present the activity of State Fire Service units in the area of chemical and ecological rescue. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about modern rescue equipment for removing chemical and environmental hazards, the elements of modern equipment of firemen rescue teams, as well as smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and the principles of their operation. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to compare the changes that have occurred in the structure and quality of rescue equipment used over the years by the State Fire Service. Furthermore, all interested will be able to take part in a competition entitled "Your Smoke Detector" organised as part of promotion of the key project of the SFS Headquarters in Poznan. Medical rescue exercises of State Fire Service fire fighters from Wielkopolska will take place during the fair. During the simulated incidents, teams of SFS rescuers will provide assistance to persons injured as a result road accidents, carbon monoxide poisoning, fainting, cardiac arrests, chemical burns and electric shock. These exercises will take place between exhibitors’ stands, which will increase the reliability of the exercises, also through the participation of bystanders in the simulated incidents. POLEKO will also include a scientific and technical conference organised by the Wielkopolska Branch of the Association of Fire Engineers and Technicians, the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Poznań and the Poznań International Fair, entitled "Protecting people and the environment against major accidents. Experiences and conclusions". The aim of the conference is to present the issues related to chemical and environmental safety. Experiences and conclusions from the process of preventing major accidents and from rescue operations will be presented. The stand of the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection will present reports on the state of the environment in various voivodeships (provinces) and publications from the Library of Environmental Monitoring, thematic brochures and flyers e.g. on the scope of activities of the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection, waste electrical 5 and electronic equipment, efforts to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea and on the implementation of projects under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area. A novelty will be an information point at the stand. The four-day Eco-Innovation Exhibition is a project carried out under the "Are you a creator? Become an eco-innovator" project. The Eco-Innovation Exhibition is a project coordinated by the University of Economics in Poznań and co-financed with funds from the NFEP&WM. The exhibition will be a place for sharing experiences in the field of ecoinnovation between businesses, research and pro-innovative units and representatives of government administration. Thanks to the Eco-Innovation Exhibition entrepreneurs will have the opportunity not only to present their achievements, but also to learn about the activities of scientific and proinnovation units, which will be an opportunity to share experiences and establish valuable pro-eco-innovative cooperation. The Eco-Innovation Exhibition will feature a two-day conference (16-17 October), including lectures on: 6 1. These will be semi-finalists of the Eco Design Competition organised under the auspices of the Minister of the Environment. The competition was addressed to manufacturers, distributors and service providers whose products or services are part of the eco design trend. The aim of the competition was to promote and disseminate the achievements in the field of environmentally friendly, sustainable design, innovative design solutions as well as exploring the knowledge of ecodesign among businesses, end customers and the public. The "green" and highly innovative exhibition will include, among others, MANU NEST - a collection of furniture from volcanic lava, PISKORZ'S VERTICAL AXIS WIND POWER STATIONS (MTP 2014 Gold Medal winner) WARSAW JACKET made in 100% from recycled polyester and Italian Feb31st wooden glasses. Will we use solutions to reduce energy consumption and use alternative sources and the expanding range of environmentally friendly solutions for cities? Eco-town is a specially arranged exhibition space, first presented at POLEKO in 2012. What we see at this year's town? Ecological Town is a specially arranged exhibition area, presented for the first time at POLEKO 2012. What will we see this year in the Ecological Town? Methane Zone –a comprehensive range of NGV industry suppliers will be presented here: an exhibition of CNG vehicles and the technology of these environmentally friendly vehicles, methane fuelling systems, CNG cylinders and component suppliers, representatives of CNG 7 assembly, installation and maintenance service providers, consultants and CNG/LNG industry experts. There will also be an international conference held, entitled "Methane for the Motorization", which will present a variety of the most innovative solutions. NGV industry leaders will share their insights on trends, opportunities and policies needed to accelerate the development of the NGV market. Speakers will indicate effective strategies for the development of environmentally friendly methane fuels. This year's events in the "Methane Zone" will be crowned with the Blue Corridor 2014 NGV Rally. POLEKO will host the Rally crew consisting of representatives of International NGV Organisations. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Janusz Piechociński took honorary patronage of the International Conference on NGV entitled "Methane for the Motorization" and the International CNG and LNG Vehicle Rally "BLUE CORRIDOR 2014". The Green Fuel Foundation for the development of alternative methane fuels is the organiser of the Conference on NGV and cng.auto.pl is the coordinator of the BLUE CORRIDOR 2014 rally in the Polish section. Ecological Town is an imitation of a town with exposed environmentally friendly solutions, such as solar panels on buildings, hybrid and LED lamps, environmentally friendly containers, equipment for cleaning, hybrid car or the first electric vehicle powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, which took part in the Shell Eco Marathon. Also eco-projects dedicated to urban area users will be presented.
