PRESS RELEASE Kitzbühel is all set for a great season's skiing - attractive new facilities for winter 2012/13 Kitzbühel, 29. 11. 2012. Kitzbühel is all set for a great season's skiing! Many of the area's ski lifts, including the Fleckalmbahn, Jufen, Sonnenrast and Resterkogel, are already in full weekend operation. There is plenty of snow cover, with generous snowfall creating the perfect conditions for winter sports. The easy accessibility of the region, with its long winters and virtually guaranteed snow, makes it the ideal destination for skiers and winter sports fans. With recent upgrades to its ski facilities, Kitzbühel now has some added attractions for those who haven't yet made up their minds where to go for this winter's ski season. Last winter skiers had to take the two-seater lift up the Zweitausender, but this season they can relax in comfort on a modern detachable chairlift with heated seats and canopies, each chair carrying up to eight people comfortably to the summit. Comfort has also been improved at the Walde-Bahn chairlift in the core skiing area on the Hahnenkamm. Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel has replaced the old T-bar lift on the Walde, which offers some of the most guaranteed snow in the Kitzbühel area, and invested in a state-of-the-art detachable 6-seater. This new chairlift also features heated seats and canopies for a comfortable ride up to the mountain station at 1706 m. The quality of the pistes has also been extensively upgraded, with improvements made to the Familienstreif and the Kaser run. Extra snowmaking equipment has also been acquired for the Familienstreif/Walde and Ganslern areas, and in 2012/13 a total of 780 snow cannons will provide extra snow cover - 30 more than last season. All in all, Kitzbühel is ideally prepared for a successful ski season in 2012/13. Stay up to date with the latest news from the Kitzbühel ski area at http://dede.facebook.com/kitzbuehel.
