March 6-7 Winter Snow Camp Backcountry Ski Weekend Tune up your skills and share your secrets as we set up at 4300' to ski tight trees, open glades, slopes, and tour red spruce heaven. Enjoy snow camping and this high woods winter adventure. What To Expect: Winter camping with a supplied small group megamid kitchen next to the Snow Spring for a fresh water supply. Access is either skiing from White Grass or taking the one run lift at Canaan Ski Area for $5. The camping spot will be about a 1.5-2 hour all uphill ski from the lodge or a 20 minute ski from the top of Canaan Ski Area. We will tour some later Saturday after setting camp and again most of Sunday. The area is very scenic and the trails are single track heaven. What To Bring: All your winter camping gear, your food, and all supplies to camp and Stay warm as well as gear for mountain travel and tree or trail skiing while there. There will be a group tent and as a kitchen with water nearby and a toilet set up. What Times: We will begin to ski into camp around 1 pm March 6th and break down the camp and return to WG around 3 pm Sunday. The camping location is to be determined as there is a lot of snow this year and we are wide open to picking a location. We hope to share our not only finding a near perfect spot to do this but also our knowledge of the trails and tele skiing nearby. You are to bring your part in making this not only fun yet educational and a huge exchange of know how.
