Preschool Program at the National Museum of Racing The National Museum of Racing’s Preschool Program is back for the 2010 school year. Please join the Preschool Program at the National Museum of Racing, 191 Union Ave., Saratoga Springs, on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Each class consists of story time, learning a letter and number and a craft project. An adult must accompany children. Admission is $30.00 per child for the six Wednesdays. (Museum members receive a 15% discount.) Space is limited and advance reservations are required; call 584-0400, ext. 118. Please call in advance, so we may plan accordingly. Thank you. We’ll examine different animal skulls to learn about herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle will be our story. Families Wednesday, April 21 Everyone’s family is important. Learn about human families and how horses’ families work. We’ll even see paintings of related horses in the Museum’s collection. Create a special family portrait and memory book. We will read Waiting for Gregory. Feelings Wednesday, April 28 How do you feel today? Are you happy, sad or mad? Horses have feelings too! Discover how horses show their feelings. When Sophie Gets Angry will be our story. Kentucky Derby Celebration! Wednesday, April 28 Learn about this famous horse race. Help your friends make a Kentucky Derby blanket of roses for our horse in the Horse Play Gallery. Our story will be Gaston Goes to the Kentucky Derby. Bugs Make Horses Buggy Wednesday, May 5 Insects are interesting! We will talk about insects. We will also dress up our horse to protect him from the insects. We will have fun making some colorful butterflies.
