Prospective suppliers are invited to submit an itemised expression of interest to export waste from the WMC to Australia or New Zealand for recycling or disposal. Materials that are periodically exported from the WMC to Australia include asbestos, aluminium cans and lead acid batteries. Currently there is a backlog at the WMC of these and other materials that may best be disposed of by exporting for recycling or disposal, including: asbestos aluminium cans steel cans and other steel items copper and other metals batteries e-waste tyres chemicals glass plastics. Prospective suppliers: 1. May submit an expression of interest relating to all or each of the types of material/waste intended for export; 2. May, after inspecting the materials processed at the Waste Management Centre, propose the inclusion of additional materials in their expression of interest; 3. Can arrange to inspect the material(s) intended for export by contacting the WMC Supervisor, Malcolm Snell on 24090 or 50403 between 8am and 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday; and 4. Should inform themselves fully with regard to the nature and quantities of materials that may be exported from the WMC and should not rely solely on information relating to estimates provided by the Administration of quantities of wastes present at the WMC or that may be processed through the WMC in future.
