SUBMITTALS

drawings; operation and maintenance data; as-constructed data; installation, startup, and testing
manuals; operation and maintenance manuals; and as-constructed drawings.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1
MEDIUM EFFICIENCY PLEATED FILTERS
A.
Acceptable Manufacturers: Farr 30-30, Cambridge, American Air Filter, or equal.
B.
Description: 2-inch-thick medium efficiency, pleated fabric media disposable type filter with
support grid and enclosing frame. UL Class 2.
C.
Rating: 75-80 percent, Minimum Efficiency Reporting Valve (MERV)-8 on ASHRAE 52.2 for
particle size ranging from 3 to 10 microns.

Performance: Filters shall be capable of maintaining rated efficiency at 500 fpm face velocity
with initial pressure drop not to exceed 0.30-inch W.G. and final pressure drop at 0.90-inch
W.G.

Frame: Provide complete factory assembled galvanized steel frame assembly suitable for
filters, including all necessary hardware for supporting and holding filters in place with an
airtight seal all around frame, upstream load or downstream load as indicated on custom
systems, with side access on central station air handling units.

HIGH EFFICIENCY PLEATED FILTERS
A.
Acceptable Manufacturers: Farr Riga-Flow, Cambridge, American Air Filter, or equal.
B.
Description: 12-inch-deep, pleated, rigid, replaceable, with glass fiber media, media support
grid, contour stabilizers, and galvanized steel enclosing frame.
C.
Rating: Unit efficiency of 65 percent, MERV-11 minimum rated based on ASHRAE 52.2 for
particle size ranging from 3 to 10 microns.
D.
Performance: Filters shall be capable of maintaining rated efficiency at 500 fpm face velocity
with initial pressure drop not to exceed 0.60 inches W.G., and final pressure drop at 1.5 inches.

Frame: Provide complete factory assembled galvanized steel frame assembly suitable for
filters, including all necessary hardware for supporting and holding filters in place with an

INSTALLATION, FILTER GAUGE
A.
Install filter gauge around each filter assembly with static pressure taps for entering and leaving
side of filter.
B.
Fasten tubing with metal fasteners.

PROTECTION
A.
Equipment operation during construction:

Pleated Filters:
a.
If air handlers are operated during construction, replace filters periodically as
required to prevent dirt carryover.
b.
Install clean filters prior to air balancing.
Choose 3.4 or 3.5. Use 3.4 if Commissioning Section 019100 is included; otherwise use 3.5.
