Waste Oil and Oil Filter Collection
A no cost waste oil and oil filter recycling collection will be implemented at the landfill
office in January 2011. Residents can bring these materials to the landfill office, located
at 20448 Junco Road, in the Town of Ridgeville, the last full week of each month from
7:00 to 1:00, the same as the electronics collection. Monroe County reserves the right to
charge the direct cost to recycle from large volume commercial accounts. Starting
1/1/2011 a State law goes into effect banning these materials from Wisconsin landfills.
Most of the Monroe County large volume generators and oil change service providers
have been recycling waste oil and oil filters for many years and some may consider
accepting from the public. We will trace back any truck load of waste containing
excessive amounts of oil filters and offer educational support to encourage compliance
