Broad monitoring of the staff group outcomes across Wales Observations The information on CAJE is robust for the application submitted from Aneurin Bevan for the Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse. The panel noted the supplementary information submitted for the review did not increase the band outcome. The Job Evaluation outcomes are robust. NHS Wales Monitoring The outcomes across NHS Wales are inconsistent for this staff group. Hywel Dda, Cwm Taf and Betsi Cadwaladr have posts identified at band 7 which have job matched to the Nurse Advanced. The additional requirements include: require highly developed specialist knowledge such as that obtained through a masters degree Provides and plans specialised training and education. May lead clinical audit Cardiff and Vale, Abertawe Bro morgannwg and Aneurin Bevan have posts identified at band 6. Conclusions The identified Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse – band 6 posts, in Aneurin Bevan are robust. The band outcomes for Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse staff group across NHS Wales are inconsistent. Agreed outcomes and recommended actions The role of the Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse has been extended in some organisations.
