Axis Communications launched today the AXIS 262+ Network Video Recorder. A simple, reliable, complete video system for professional surveillance and remote monitoring of hotels, shops, bank offices, petrol stations, and other environments where security is a priority.

The AXIS 262+ connects directly to your network giving a comprehensive surveillance solution that is manageable remotely via the local area network or the Internet.

Using existing network infrastructure, you can connect up to eight Axis network cameras enabling simultaneous recording and remote access to live views and playback of recorded images. The AXIS 262+ is ideal for storing video with up to megapixel resolution. There is no degradation in video quality, as it will always give the same quality as the original image from the camera. The 250 GB hard disk allows you to store, for instance, 13 days of
VGA (640x480) resolution at one frame per second from eight video channels. Based on industry standards, it provides a complete solution, compatible with all Axis products with firmware 4.15 or higher. The AXIS 262+ is also available as a bundle consisting of one AXIS 262+ and four Axis network cameras.
The AXIS 262+ Network Video Recorder will be available in December 2006 through Axis’ distribution channels.
