SHS Senior Elite Application
The SHS Senior Recognition Ceremony acknowledges those seniors who have exhibited exemplary dedication
to both Sprayberry High School and their local community during their four years at Sprayberry. The ceremony
will be held on the morning of Friday, April 17, 2015. All seniors are encouraged to apply for this prestigious
award.
A committee of community members will select the seniors to be recognized based on a Senior Elite Resume.
Seniors will be judged using a rubric that evaluates them on their involvement in the following four categories:
School Sponsored Clubs, Sports and Activities, Community Service, and Honors and Awards.
In order to be considered for Sprayberry’s Senior Recognition Ceremony, you must create a Senior Elite
Resume (see online template). The completed resume is due NO LATER than February 1, 2015 at 11:59pm.

No late resumes will be accepted!
Criteria for Resume:
Please note: Failure to fulfill these criteria EXACTLY as specified will result in your automatic
disqualification.







You MUST use the template provided on the SHS website. SAVE AS A WORD DOCUMENT and attach
the file to your email. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE INTO THE EMAIL OR SAVE IN ANY OTHER FORMAT
THAT ISN’T COMPATIBLE WITH MICROSOFT WORD.
No variations in font type, font size, font color, spacing, or paper color will be accepted. In other words,
your resume must look exactly like the sample.
The top of your resume should include the required title, your name, and your current GPA (there is no
set GPA requirement, but you must provide it).
For each category, list your involvement beginning with 12th grade and working down to 9th grade.
School Sponsored Clubs: In this section, list any SHS clubs in which you participated, including any
leadership positions you held, beginning with the most recent. You must include the year, the club, and
the club sponsor’s first and last name in the required format.
Sports and Activities: In this section, list any SHS sports and activities in which you participated,
including any leadership positions you held, beginning with the most recent. You must include the
year, the activity, and the coach or sponsor’s first and last name in the required format.
Community Service: In this section, list any community service you have completed, even if it is not
SHS sponsored. You should begin with the most recent, and include the year/event, the
club/organization, and the position/name for the contact person in the required format.




Honors and Awards: In this section, list any honors and awards you have received in grades 9–11 only.
No honors or awards from grade 12 will be counted to ensure equity among applicants (this includes
Senior Superlatives).
Reference List: In this section, list three references who can attest to your character: a community
reference (can be someone you worked for, someone you did community service with/for, etc.), a
teacher reference (someone who has had you in class), and a club/sponsor/coach reference. You must
include the reference’s name, the years you have known the reference, your affiliation with the
reference, and any contact info you have for that person.
Senior Recognition Ceremony: In this section, you need to list (in order of preference) ten SHS faculty
members that you would want to honor you if you are selected. Only one teacher will be selected to
honor you during the ceremony.
Parent/Guardian Contact Info: In this section, please list current contact information (phone
numbers, email) for your parent/guardian so that we may notify them of your selection as part of
Sprayberry’s Senior Recognition Ceremony.
*Failure to follow any of the above directions EXACTLY as specified may result in disqualification. Falsifying
any information on the Senior Recognition Resume will result in immediate disqualification. We reserve the
right to verify any and all information submitted on a Senior Recognition Resume.
