Our Client Services is currently seeking a self-motivated, results-driven Sr. Structural Engineer. Working in a dynamic, collaborative environment and reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be actively involved with activities throughout the project lifecycles: proposal, engineering, project management, construction and commissioning. Responsibilities: Perform and managing structural engineering project, which includes but not limited to, structural engineering calculations, design and analysis, and construction inspections Communicate to staff at all levels in a professional, respectful manner Review, amend and approve designs and shop drawings Collaborate with designers and draftspersons to implement structural requirements into designs Interpret technical data and documents Prepare detailed, technical reports in a timely manner Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary project team to implement structural requirements Travel to construction sites in Alberta and outside of Canada to confirm structural design drawings and structural design intents Possess an sense of urgency and has an ability to remain calm under pressure Qualifications: Bachelor degree, specializing in structural engineering Minimum of 15 years of structural engineering project experience Technical knowledge of structural materials, construction, modular building, manufacturing, and site installation In-depth knowledge of design principles and building codes for ABC, NBCC, CSA, AISC, and IBC plus willingness to learn new codes and construction practices Project management skills to meet deadlines, maximize resources and minimize cost Strong technical writing skills Effective communication skills Good interpersonal skills Collaborative team player Proficient software application skills (e.g. MS Office Suite) Familiarity of structural software: Ram Steel, Woodworks and PCA software If you are interested in this job please send your resume in MS Word format to resume@employersemployer.com and state the job title.
