WISCONSIN HEALTH FUND INTERNAL POSITION POSTING Position: Location: Reports to: Medical Transcriptionist Milwaukee Front Office Manager Scope: The Medical Transcriptionist will interpret and transcribe dictation from Medical Staff in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Maintains and ensures confidentiality of medical records Understanding of medical terminology Understand the legal requirements for transcription and the medical record Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation and style Ability to interpret diverse accents, dialects and varied dictation styles Accurately types physician dictation in a timely basis to provide documentation of medical care Prioritizes X-Ray transcription and transcription that is needed on a stat request Develop, maintain, revise and update current Medical Center forms Maintain, revise and update electronic files of Medical Center forms Maintain, revise and update master copies in the Medical Billing office copier Types letters for medical center communication and envelopes Assures that transcribed documentation is signed by the appropriate physician prior to being placed in the patient chart Excellent eye, hand and auditory coordination Medical Center Recall System Performs related work and other duties as assigned. Some of the other duties as assigned include but are not limited to: 1. Diabetic database entry; 2. Assisting Medical Record department and Medical Center as needed Experience and Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with clinic physicians, clinic patients and their families. Able to sit for long periods, approximately 80% of assigned work time if able. Medical Transcription experience preferred.
