LESSON 1
This will be the introduction to prophets. Students will be given a handout,
“Called to be Prophets”, that they will read with the person next to them
and answer the corresponding questions together. They will be asked to
make separate notes to ensure that they both have the information
necessary to complete an assignment at the end of the unit.

Students will take notes from a power point on characteristics of a
prophet.
Students will watch a documentary titled “Prophets of the Bible”.
Students will fill out an exit card asking them to write down two qualities of
a prophet.

Students will be watching the 1989 film “Lean on Me” to identify
the way that the character, Joe Clark, represents a modern day
prophet.
Students will answer questions from a handout that will be
assigned to them for completion marks.
