About the Institute: The Institute is located on NH 58 about 30 Kms from Delhi on Delhi - Meerut highway. Its18.5 acres of area house our eight academic Departments that cater to the needs of the students. Well laid out labs like CAD / CAM Lab, Network Lab, Electrical Lab, Computer Lab, Communication Lab, etc. provide the faculty, staff and students, a chance to engage in educational programs dealing with many inter - disciplinary applications. The Institute offers under graduate degree courses in eight disciplines i.e., Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engg and Electronics & Instrumentation, B.Pharma. Besides these, M.Tech (in EN, ECE, CS& ME) MCA, MBA, PGDM and M. Pharma, courses are also offered to the students. About the Course: Power Electronics Technology in India has grown by leaps and bounds in the past four decades. In view of the tremendous potential of this technology, it has now become necessary that the two partners in this area, the industry and the academia, come closer. Various wings of the Government have recognized the importance of this area and its effect on national economy as is clear from the launching of large scale programmes like NaMPET, launched by DIT, MCIT, Govt. of India. This course will offer a unique opportunity to the participants working in this area to acquire higher knowledge in current and relevant application of Power Electronics and soft computing in Power Systems, Renewable Energy sector through theoretical and laboratory-based experimental interactions. This event will introduce the participants to the basic concepts of Power Electronics application and soft computing in power system. It is structured to give a wide exposure on the role of power electronics converters in power quality management and technology trends in different Renewable Energy sectors. Course Contents: The main objective of the course is to bridge the gap between academia, R & D projects and real time commercial application of industries. Sessions will include lectures on Introduction to Advanced Power Electronics Power Quality Issues Role of Power Electronics Converters in Power Quality Management Performance Parameters of Power Electronics Converters Renewable Energy Application of MATLAB-Simulink for Performance Analysis of Power Electronics Converters Application of Soft computing in power system Duration: 6 Hours a Day (10.00 A.M to 4.00 P.M), 3 working Days WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
