Information Sought:
Help (delete after reading):
a. For every part and analysis type (structural/thermal), use a different file (or file set). Start with
Revision 0 in the filenames.
b. For every revision to an analysis, fill out the details in the table with the increased revision
number, update the rest of the document for that revision, then SAVE AS a different file where
the revision number in the filename matches the latest concept revision number.
c. Thus, you may have filenames of this arrangement:
a. ME402 Fall2009 … Frame Analysis Thermal Revision 0.docx
b. ME402 Fall2009 … Frame Analysis Thermal Revision 1.docx
c. ME402 Fall2009 … Frame Analysis Structural Revision 0.docx
d. ME402 Fall2009 … Frame Analysis Structural Revision 1.docx
e. ME402 Fall2009 … Hood Analysis Structural Revision 0.docx
f. ME402 Fall2009 … Hood Analysis Structural Revision 1.docx
It is a good idea to make the previous revisions Read Only using file → right click → properties, so that
you don’t accidentally overwrite and save on a previous revision, when you actually wanted to bump up
the revision number.
