Agreement:
MK Gallery is committed to providing a high quality, experimental and enriching experience
of contemporary art and art-making for all participants. We achieve this by recruiting and
training freelance artists who have a diverse range of skills and specialisms. We also work
closely with teachers and creative education specialists to devise and develop our
programme.
As part of our commitment to a quality provision, we have set out an informal agreement
which explains the practical expectations we have for ourselves and for the schools we
engage.
Across our onsite and offsite learning activity, MK Gallery agrees to:
1. Manage bookings promptly, and send information/confirmation to all relevant parties
within 5 working days.
2. Recruit an Associate Artist that suits the brief and requirements as outlined in the school
booking form, and inform the school if any changes or alterations are made.
3. Ensure all Associate Artists are aware of our current Children, Young People and
Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy and have current CRB/DBS certificates in line with Local
Authority guidelines.
4. Provide a risk assessment upon request
5. Ensure adequate materials and resources are sourced by the Associate Artist leading the
tour or workshop activities, unless other arrangements have been made.
6. Ensure the Associated Artist is supported in their preparation for the activity
7. Provide a safe space and facilities for all onsite activity
8. Ensure that, in the case of a cancellation by the Associate Artist or MK Gallery for any
reason, an alternative artist is sourced to deliver the session if possible. If no alternative can
be sourced, no fee will be charged to the school.
9. Ensure that an invoice is sent to the school contact provided within 10 days of the activity
being completed
By undertaking a booking with MK Gallery your school agrees to facilitate and
support the activity in the following ways:
1. Provide accurate and detailed information on the booking form
2. To inform MK Gallery of any changes to the details provided, such as number of
attendees, number of staff supervising etc.
3. To provide a safe space, facilities and materials for offsite (in-school) activities as agreed
with the Associate Artist.
4. To provide an adequate number of supervisory staff who can manage students’
behaviour.
5. To ensure photography permissions are acquired before workshops take place, if
appropriate.
6. Ensure that MK Gallery is informed immediately if your school wishes to cancel a session.
(NB: Our cancellation policy for chargeable activity is that if a cancellation occurs 10 working
days or more prior to the date of the session no fee will be charged; if cancellation occurs up
to 9 working days prior to the date of the session 50% of the agreed fee will be charged. In
the event of cancellation on the day of the session 100% of the agreed fee will be charged).
7. Ensure the invoice is paid within 30 days of receipt.
If you have any concerns or questions about the agreement please do get in touch.
Feedback:
We may occasionally ask you for formal feedback after a session has taken place, and
share any feedback or images you give us via our website, e-communications, and with
funders/partners.
Additionally if you have any comments or suggestions about the session, we will gratefully
receive them. In particular, if you feel that MK Gallery has not met your expectations in the
