JOB DESCRIPTION Commercial Vehicle Refinisher JOB TITLE: Vehicle Refinisher REPORTS TO: Paint Shop Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Paintshop JOB PURPOSE: Primarily responsible for preparing products for priming and/or finished painting process, and priming and painting products in the Paint Department. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. To have excellent knowledge & experience within the spray painting Industry. 2. Have experience with Colour Identification, mixing paint & related components. 3. Degrease, mechanically or manually prepare products & remove oils, dirt and other foreign substances prior to paint application. 4. Neatly Apply masking materials to products & preserve surfaces from overspray. 5. Coat products with epoxy primer, 2-Pak topcoats & waterbourne paints using conventional spray equipment & diaphragm pump systems. 6. Have good knowledge & skills relating to secondary paint stages & repair work methods including brushing, roller & aerosol applications. 7. Visually inspect products for quality before, during and after the painting process. 8. Maintain a level of cleanliness & order within the department, cleaning & daily maintenance of all paint spray equipment, tooling & PPE. 9. Observe all aspects of health and safety regulations and report any unsafe working conditions to department supervisors. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Chemically pre-wash bare steel bodies prior to the paint process. 2. Application of polyurethane jointing sealers. 3. Repair light accident damage using various fillers to new & used vehicles. 4. Record PFT & follow all documentation relevant within the department. 5. Perform other various duties as may be assigned.
