next day. No late work unless excused absents.
Make-up Policy: All make-up work for excused absences is due two days after returning back to school.
No make-up work will be given for unexcused absences. Make-up tests must be completed within one
week after the student returns to school with an excused absence.
Grading System: Class Assignments, homework assignments, group participation, including extra
credit work constitutes 40% of the grade. Quizzes and tests, including nine week tests and semester tests
constitute 60% of the classroom grade. The Final Exam counts for two tests grades.
Test and quizzes will be given weekly.
Note: Progress reports will be sent home every 2 to 3 weeks. The reports should be signed by a parent or
guardian.
Teacher Comments:
To students:
It is imperative that you are in class and on task at all times. Due to the 4 x 4 block schedule, the entire
course must be completed within 18 weeks. If you fall behind, you will need to attend homework café after
school. Homework café will be held on Monday through Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. We shall strive
for excellence as a team. Knowledge is more important than a grade. If you obtain knowledge, your grade will
reflect the knowledge that you have obtained.
To parents:
I am looking forward to a great and successful school year working with you and your child. I will be
sending home progress reports periodically throughout the school year to be signed and returned for a grade.
Please feel free to become an active participant, visit my classroom and set-up appointment to discuss your
child’s progress.
