The children learn about Tudor buildings, punishments and how the rich and poor people lived. Creating a castle or Tudor fort will allow children to develop their understanding of what daily life was like, and how it felt to live in a castle, especially if you were rich! NEVER upset the King! Inside: Make a chair look fit for a king! Cover it with rich coloured fabrics such as velvet. Extend the back of the chair so it is tall and grand, decorating it with priceless jewels! Provide dressing up clothes – cloaks/robes for the Kings men. A crown/hat for the king. Jewellery – plastic or made from papier-mâché. A banqueting table with cups covered in foil for goblets, trenchers (plates) made from thick card (or clay). Arrange seats around the table for a banquet! Display a feast of foods on the table – made from papier-mâché, foam/sponge, plastic play foods, plasticine/play dough.
