11th Grade Career Research Project
Task
Conduct research of a career path that may be of interest to you and create a presentation to
share your findings with your classmates.
Process
1) Complete preliminary career matching tests (if interested) and select a career to research.
Then complete #1 on the I-search
2) Use at least three sources to gather information about your chosen career field
*One must be an interview with someone who knows more about the career than you,
not necessarily someone who has that job, however.
*Two other sources that may be online or print sources
*Be sure to gather Works Cited information while you gather information
3) Once you have sufficient information complete I-search section two and three and begin
writing your Research Paper. Be sure to note paper requirements in the "products section"
4) Create your presentation using one of the options in the Resources below.
Products
1) Research Paper: 12pt font, double-spaced, times new roman, carefully proofread,
with integrated quotes from sources (3), minimum 1 page typed. This paper should
flow with introduction, body and conclusion. Organization of body section is up to you.
2) Presentation: Delivered to the class using one of the four options below. Also posted to
the Careers page on Mr. McComb's wiki--seanmccomb.pbworks.com
3) Works Cited Page: MLA style citing at least 3 sources. Consider using: www.easybib.com
