Collected municipal waste per inhabitant Definition This indicator expresses the quantity of municipal waste collected from households, commercial activities, institutions, by municipalities or specialised economic operators, related to the number of inhabitants (the country's population on January 1 of the reference year). Municipal waste includes the following waste categories: paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metal, textiles, food waste, park and garden waste. Construction and demolition waste is excluded. Unit of measure kg/inhabitant Purpose Measuring the quantity of collected municipal waste in accordance with the requirements provided by EU Regulation No. 849/2010 of the Commission of 27 September 2010 amending Regulation (EC) No. 2150/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2002 on waste statistics and the 6th Environment Action Programme.
