Municipal waste recycling rate This indicator expresses the recycling degree of the municipal waste (operations R2-R11) of the collected municipal waste quantity. Definition The municipal waste includes the following waste categories: paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metal, textiles, food waste, park and garden waste. Construction and demolition waste are excluded. Unit of measure % Purpose Measuring the recycling degree of the collected municipal waste in accordance with the requirements provided by EU Regulation No. 849/2010 of the Commission of 27 September 2010 amending Regulation (EC) No. 2150/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2002 on waste statistics and the 6th Environment Action Programme.
