Municipal waste recycling rate
This indicator expresses the recycling degree of the municipal waste
(operations R2-R11) of the collected municipal waste quantity.
Definition
The municipal waste includes the following waste categories: paper,
cardboard, plastics, glass, metal, textiles, food waste, park and
garden waste. Construction and demolition waste are excluded.

Purpose
Measuring the recycling degree of the collected municipal waste in
accordance with the requirements provided by EU Regulation No.
849/2010 of the Commission of 27 September 2010 amending
Regulation (EC) No. 2150/2002 of the European Parliament and of
the Council of 25 November 2002 on waste statistics and the 6th
Environment Action Programme.
