REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR PARTIAL ROOF REPLACEMENT AND RESTORATION OF BAYSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STEVENSVILLE, MARYLAND January 22, 2008 The Board of Education of Queen Anne’s County in association with the State of Maryland Public School Construction Program is requesting fee proposals from architects licensed in the state of Maryland. The fee proposal is to provide design and construction administration services for a partial roof replacement and restoration of Bayside Elementary School. Background Bayside Elementary School’s roof was installed in 1991 and is a combination of single-ply membrane and metal roof. The singleply roof is comprised of EPDM on plywood with battered insulation on the classroom wing or EPDM on rigid insulation on the gymnasium and cafeteria wing. The metal roof is installed on the central core of the building. The EPDM roof system has deteriorated requiring replacement with a new roofing system. The metal roof is faded and showing signs of rust requiring restoration. Provide restoration specification for the existing metal roof system. Provide construction Administration service for the roofing project. The replacement roofing system and restoration must be approved by the Board of Education and the State of Maryland Public School Construction Program office.
