Position Title: Sales Specialist
Summary: Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Sales Specialist is responsible for
growing sales by adding new customers. This position is responsible for company growth by
working with Marketing, identifying new prospects, developing and securing new customers and
researching potential new market and testing opportunities. The Sales Specialist is a member of
the Sales Team.
At all times, will ensure that we meet/exceed customer expectations and operate under good
general business practices that are in full compliance with any state or federal requirements.
Primary Duties:
1. Research and identify markets of opportunity and customers within those markets that have a
business need to purchase our technical services
2. Make initial and follow up contact to potential new customers to explain our technical expertise
and depth of services available
3. Develop and prepare an effective sales process that identifies the “pain” of a customer and how
we can solve that problem
4. Able to close new accounts.
5. Manage relationship building through final sales utilizing all resources within Cherney. Once sale
is secured with new customer, manage the effective on-boarding of the account with all internal
staff staying involved until transitioned to Customer Service Specialists.
6. Utilize CRM process to maintain communication and status of all prospects in the sales pipeline
and process.
7. Participate in the creation of a Sales Forecast and regular monitoring of results against
established goals
8. Proactively keep your manager informed of sales activity, pipeline, and performance against
Sales Forecast, early Sales targets and strategic objectives owned
9. Assist in collections if needed on accounts brought in through one’s own efforts
10. Provide ideas to Marketing to develop ‘Sell Sheets’ and other marketing tools that help describe
and explain our services
11. Follow up on all leads generated through direct marketing and website inquiries
12. May be required to occasionally work evening and weekend hours as needed to ensure proper
completion of duties
13. Travel may be required including overnight trips by car or airplane for sales activities with
customers, prospects, or technical training
14. Support and actively participate in all safety initiatives related to site function
15. Effectively support and follow all aspects of the Quality Management System.
16. Responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Cherney values.
17. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
1. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a Technical Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is
preferred. Employee should have one year experience in technical sales support role or a

combination of education and experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentive and timely in responses
Good follow up and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
Collaborative and cooperative work style internally and externally with a “can do” attitude
Excellent problem solver who sees solutions instead of obstacles
Familiarity with MS Office software and strong computer skills, including CRM applications
Valid driver’s license
Excellent attendance record
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to walk regularly around the production floor and office areas, including climbing steps and
also occasionally climbing on a ladder
2. Able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted
3. Able to bend, squat, sit and stand
4. Able to sit in office chair working on written assignments and operate a computer
5. Specific vision requirements of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
