LAs working on concentration; did well when this was a focus last week. INDOOR ENHANCEMENT – Fine motor: threading leaves: “ …”loved threading numbers. Autumn puppets and positional language puppets in sound station. Autumn flashcards with vocabulary and picture clue, to read together with the children. Dot to dot leaves in writing area: encourage the children to choose a colour, and to fill in their shapes, too. Easel: brown paint on a plate: use thumbs to paint a tree, then finger tips to ‘dot’ leaves on to branches from other plates of paint. Pine cones in sand Junk boxes in workshop: with Mrs Stoddard. This is a new skill in Nursery for the children. I feel they will benefit from some adult guidance. Play dough: make hedgehogs by ‘snipping’ dough with scissors. Guide children to hold the scissors in a natural grip. Sand: paint numbers on to conkers using acrylic paint. Encourage the children to name and recognize the numerals. Construction: 2d or 3d shape blocks: “ …” spending time making detailed arrangements with shapes. Monday Circle time – Learning intention Introduce the concept of Autumn. Uses vocabulary focused on objects and people who are of particular importance to them. Builds up vocabulary that reflects the breadth of their experiences. Tuesday To count to 10 in unison. To say the number names in the correct order. To say one number name for each item. To know that the last number we say is the total. Wednesday Thursday May be beginning to show preference for a dominant hand. To know that God made each of us to be different and special. Draws lines and circles using gross motor movements. Friday Shows awareness of similarities in shapes in the environment. Beginning to use mathematical names for flat 2d shapes. Circle time – activity Using props from the sound Rote count to 20 together, station, and photo cards, using fingers and toes. Then Collective worship introduce the mini topic of crouch down at 5 and 15, jump Autumn. Focus on new up at 10 and 20. takes place at the beginning of circle time each morning.
