Criteria to host the conference should be considered as guidelines. The national member association must be a full member of ADI and well enough established to take part in the organisation of the conference. The numbers and lists below include current provisional members, who currently would not be eligible to hold a conference, but with the development of future members, the regional balance and the number of available countries will continue to change. Countries that have not previously hosted the conference should have some preference within a region but other factors may want to be taken into account and ADI decide to return to a particular country, for example those that held much smaller conferences in the 1980s. The larger blocs (>10) should hold two conferences every decade and the smaller blocs one.
