Clean exposed exterior and interior hard-surfaced finishes to a dust-free condition, free of stains, films, and similar foreign substances. 37. Restore reflective surfaces to their original reflective condition. 38. Wipe surfaces of plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment. Remove excess lubrication and other substances. 39. Vacuum carpet using commercial machine with face-beater element. 40. Exposed Mechanical Ductwork, piping, accessories and heaters are to be cleaned. 41. Pressure wash exterior sidewalks, concrete pavement, etc. 42. <Media Center furnishings> E. <Pressure washing and cleaning of the exterior of the buildings. Extreme care shall be taken when pressure washing the exterior of the buildings in order to prevent damage to the existing building’s exterior.> 17.0.3 The Final Cleaning Subcontractor shall use only cleaning materials and equipment that are compatible with the surface being cleaned, and as recommended by the manufacturer of the material. Prior to the final building cleaning work commencing, the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall obtain the manufacturer’s recommended cleaning guidelines from the applicable on-site Subcontractor or Samet Corporation to ensure cleaning materials used to accomplish this Scope of Work will not harm or detrimentally affect the particular item or surface being cleaned. The Final Building Cleaning Contractor will not claim lack of knowledge of manufacturer product for any surfaces, if damaged from improper cleaning and will reimburse Samet Corporation in full for any damaged surfaces. Final Cleaning Contractor will not proceed with any cleaning until building component’s product data has been read and acknowledged. 17.0.4 Employ experienced workers or professional cleaners for final cleaning. Clean each surface or unit to the condition expected in a normal, commercial building cleaning and maintenance program. Comply with all manufacturers’ instructions. 17.0.5 Final building cleaning Work will require multiple mobilizations as directed by Samet Corporation. No additional charges will be accepted for multiple mobilizations. 17.0.6 Wash all glass on both faces in each area of Project not more than four (4) days prior to date scheduled for inspections that establish date of Substantial Completion. Wash glass as recommended by glass manufacturer. Glass sand Glazing is to be cleaned interior and exterior on all levels and elevations of the project. 17.0.7 The Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall reference the Interior Finish Schedule designated on the drawings in order to determine the floor and wall finishes which shall be cleaned as part of this Scope of Work. 17.0.8 The Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall remove paint drippings, spots, stains, and dirt from all finished surfaces scheduled to be cleaned as part of this Scope of Work. 17.0.9 Upon completing the final building cleaning work within a specific building area, the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall request Samet Corporation to inspect the particular 10.14.07 Trade Package - 01740 Final Building Cleaning, Page 3 of 4 This is a Portion of the Complete Trade Package of 4 Pages Project Name Project Location Samet Job # building area for approval. Following receipt of written approval from Samet Corporation, the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall not be obligated to re-clean the previously cleaned and approved specific building area. <However, if requested to re-clean a particular building area, then the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor will be compensated using the Quantitative and General Allowances to be included within the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor’s Base Bid amount as defined within Section 1210 – Allowances.> 17.0.10 The Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall make provisions within its Base Bid proposal to include all necessary scaffolds, man lifts, etc. in order to reach areas within the building(s) which will require final cleaning as part of this Subcontract. Where scaffolds, man lifts, etc. are necessary, the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor shall be responsible for protecting the applicable floor and/or roof surface, etc. by providing an approved covering (i.e. plywood, etc.) in order to prevent damage to the applicable floor and/or roof surface. 17.0.11 Prior to commencing with the installation of work scheduled to be applied on new construction materials, the Final Cleaning Contractor shall field verify and provide Samet Corporation with written confirmation that all substrate finishes are acceptable to receive the specified Final Cleaning system provided as part of this Scope of Work. Failure to notify the Samet Corporation in writing of such acceptance prior to commencing any work shall constitute this Subcontractor’s acceptance of the applicable substrate finish. 17.0.12 Prior to commencing with the installation of work scheduled to be applied on existing construction materials, the Final Cleaning Subcontractor shall field verify and provide all necessary preparation work including pressure washing, sanding, scraping, cleaning, deglazing, etching, etc. as required to properly prepare the existing substrate finishes to receive the specified Final Cleaning system provided as part of this Scope of Work. 17.0.13 The Final Cleaning Subcontractor shall be responsible for providing and maintaining protective coverings, when required to protect the work of other trades. Should any Final Cleaning damage or come into contact with work of other trades, then the Final Cleaning Subcontractor shall be responsible for all costs necessary to restore the affected work back to its original condition prior to the Final Cleaning being installed. - SUMMARY INFORMATION A. The Substantial Completion date for the Final Building Cleaning Subcontractor is as reflected within the Construction Schedule. Special attention should be directed to the Construction Schedule for project sequencing requirements which are a requirement of this Scope of Work.
