Please read the following instructions carefully before use.
The Sony Compact Charger should be used only with Sony AA or AAA size Ni-MH batteries that
are marked “rechargeable.”

How to insert and charge the rechargeable batteries (B)
1. Open the cover.
2. Insert the Sony AA or AAA size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries into the charger, ensuring
proper alignment of the + and – terminals.
Any combination of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries is possible.
AA: 1 – 2 batteries AAA: 1 – 2 batteries
3. The charger then can be plugged into the proper AC mains (standard 200 V – 240 V). The
orange LED indicator will light up to signal that the charging process has begun. The LED
indicator will turn off in 7 hours. Please refer to the chart below for charging times.

If the LED indicator continuously flashes on and off during the charging process or does not
turn on, please refer to the troubleshooting chart.
The batteries must be inserted before the charger is plugged into the mains.
The batteries should be fully discharged before they are recharged.
The batteries should never be stored in the charger when not being charged.

The charger should be disconnected from the mains when the charging process is
complete or when the charger is not in use.

been adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the
appliance safely. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with

Operating Temperature: 0°C - 35°C. To optimize charging capacity, charge the batteries in
temperatures between 10°C - 30°C.
Do not expose the charger to direct sunlight. Keep away from high temperatures.
While in use, do not cover the charger with materials such as blankets.

Instructions for the Ni-MH rechargeable batteries
It is necessary to charge the batteries before using them for the first time. The contact surface
of the batteries and the charger must always be kept clean.

Do not expose the batteries to water.
Do not heat the batteries or dispose of them in fire.
Do not tear off the jacket label.
Do not disassemble or reassemble the batteries.
Do not short-circuit the batteries. To avoid short-circuiting, keep the batteries away from
all metal objects (e.g. coins, hair-pins, keys, etc.)
If the batteries are stored without use, either partially charged or fully discharged for a long
period of time, they may require several cycles of charging and discharging in order to attain
their original charge capacity.
