BROCHURE Supervised Ministry: UPERVISED MINISTRY ACPE (Ireland) Ltd. has been in the vanguard of pastoral education in Ireland since 1981. The educational setting for CPE is usually a hospital, but may be in any approved location, where there are people in need of pastoral care. The participant's personal ministry is enhanced through interpersonal group experiences and other methods of reflection on how one relates with people in crisis. Attention to the participant's personal development and supervision of the individual's Pastoral work promotes a greater self-assurance and effectiveness in ministry. The participant's ministry involves direct pastoral contact with people in crisis, their relatives and carers. A process of reflection on that activity through personal supervision, group supervision, written and video work, heightens awareness of greater pastoral potential. Formal lectures on specific aspects of the pastoral setting create an awareness of the place of the pastor among the caring professions. Prayer, theological and ethical reflection and grounding in spirituality are integral parts of pastoral education S May 2014
