Number & Title of Course: ARPL504, Spirit of Place, Design, 3 credits.
Course Description: The studio explored Ireland’s culture, religion, folklore, & ecology culminating with
designs of a gathering temple on the Island of Inishturk, County Mayo, Ireland.
Course Goals & Objectives:
 Students explore deeper history of the culture, ecology, literature and architecture
 Students write individual design poetics & build individual poetic sculptures
 Students design individual models and then combine them into one final project
