Coordinates and supervises District mandated programs with emphasis on developing academically rigorous course work (four years of Science) that provides students with a seamless transition to postsecondary education. Develops, coordinates, and supervises District mandated programs. Develops, coordinates, and supervises District personnel. Ensures Instructional Coach Model is supportive of instructional goals and objectives of the District and attainment of campus performance objectives. Assists campus personnel in disaggregation and interpretation of District mandated assessments. Monitors implementation of District mandated assessments through campus site visits and generated reports. Coordinates training for all staff regarding District mandated programs. Coordinates professional development that aligns curriculum for grades six through 12 with postsecondary curriculum and expectations. Prepares timely written reports for District Administration regarding results of District mandated programs. Develops timelines for District mandated programs. Evaluates District assessment instruments to ensure alignment of District curriculum. Coordinates with other departments, as needed, to implement district-wide assessment and provide related reports. Implements and administers other high school completion and success initiatives to support student success in Science. Collaborates with evaluators to review Benchmarks and Common Assessments. Provides leadership for training to implement District mandated programs. Keeps abreast of national and state assessment requirements. Implements or administers a program that provides opportunities for students to take academically rigorous course work during their four years of Science. Promotes and communicates high expectations of teacher and student performance. Plans and organizes for the delivery of Science regular and compensatory instructional programs to ensure implementation of the adopted curriculum (TEKS) Plans, implements and evaluates instructional programs with Principals, Coaches, and Teachers 126020 Assistant Director C&I (Science) 20. Plans and provides technical assistance to support adopted Science curriculum. 21. Plans and implements District Science Fair to provide an advanced academic opportunity for students to develop original research projects. 22. Supports high schools’ completion and success initiative to improve student achievement in high school Science and increase the number of students who graduate from high school. 23. Disaggregates PLAN/SAT/ACT data in District Science PLCs to increase the number of students who take preparatory college entrance examinations and college entrance examinations. 24. Supports early college high school programs that provide at-risk students and other students with opportunities to graduate from high school with an Associate’s degree or 60 hours of credit toward a Baccalaureate degree. 25. Designs programs that provide academic support and instruction to increase the number of students who complete the Recommended High School Program or the Distinguished Achievement Program. 26. Designs and implements strategies that create small learning communities at the District and campus level. 27. Develops summer school transition programs and other programs that provide academic support and instruction for students entering Grade 9. 28. Collaborates with UTEP, EPCC, and Texas Tech to align secondary and postsecondary curriculum and expectations. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises all assigned personnel.
