Tropical Storm Fay Shelters of Convenience
The National Hurricane Center has issued a Tropical Storm Warning and a Flood Watch for St. Johns
County. Tropical Storm Fay continues to pose a significant threat of very heavy rainfall and tropical
storm force winds as it moves inland. Because of these conditions St. Johns County Department of
Emergency Management will be opening shelters of convenience for residents living in:




Mobile home residents
Manufactured home Residents
RV’s and Boats
Residents living in low-lying areas
The following public shelters will be open at 2:00 PM this afternoon:
Pedro Menendez High School
600 SR-206 West
St. Augustine, FL 32086
One Pet Friendly Shelter will be opened at:
Timberlin Creek Elementary School
555 Pinetree Ln
St. Augustine, FL 32092
One special needs shelter will be opened at:
Pacetti Bay Middle School
245 Meadowlark Ln.
St. Augustine, FL 32092
Additional shelters will be opened as needed. Please monitor local television and radio for updates.
Please bring the following items to the shelter:





Blankets. Sleeping bags, or air mattress (tents are prohibited)
Medications
Personal care items
Pet care items
Alcohol and weapons are prohibited in ALL evacuation shelters
