Little Friends is excited to announce the receipt of a significant art donation from The
Schumacher Family, formerly of Naperville. Raymond Schumacher has donated an
acrylic sculpture by the renowned artist Frederick Hart. Mr. Hart is best known for “The
Creation Sculptures” at the Washington National Cathedral, and the bronze statue, “Three
Soldiers”, that is part of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery
in Washington, D.C.
Hart pioneered the use of clear acrylic resin to cast sculptures. This process is what he
used for his series “The Age of Light”. The sculpture that Little Friends has been given
is entitled “The Eye of Flame”. This piece is the first in a series of 300 that were done in
a limited release, and it may be viewed on the artist’s website at www.hartcollection.com
