Typhoon’s conidition or effect
Summary (Data source: Central Disasters Preventing and Responding
Agency)
The eye of typhoon Sinlaku was located approximately on the sea surface 110 km east-northeast of Hualien on today (September 13 at 12:00
CST. Typhoon Sinlaku is traveling with a speed of 7km-per-hour and with a direction turning from west-northwest to north-northwest. The
storm radius of Beaufort 7 is 250 km and Beaufort 10 is 100 km. The 13th typhoon is now located around northeast part of sea areas of Taiwan
and moving in a direction of west-northwest; strength of wind and amount of rain are increasing in all parts of Taiwan but the strength in the
typhoon center is expected to be decreased. Typhoon warning land regions is now including all regions in Taiwan (includes Green island and
Orchid island), Penghu, and Matsu, and all areas shall be alert and carefully prepare against the heavy rainfall and strong wind brought by the
entering typhoon. Ships and vessels travel around storm warming sea area, which includes southeastern, northeastern, and northern part of sea
around Taiwan and Taiwan Straight shall be extremely alerted with the potential damages from typhoon.

Occurrence of extremely heavy rain and torrential rain are expected in north, northeastern, eastern, and central southern parts of Taiwan.
There is also an especially high chance of occurrence of regional extremely torrential rain in mountain region of Taiwan and while
southeastern part might have regional rainfall or extremely heavy rain occurred and please be aware of the potential damage caused by
typhoon. Residents in low-laying areas shall be aware of inundation of sea and flood during tide-rising period. In addition, the tide and
strength of wind might be dangerous and shall avoid doing activities around shore and sea areas.

IV Others
1. Construction scaffold fell due to bold wind on 82 Fuchen Rd of Hualien city at
21:09 on September 12 and the construction company had started repairing
processes. Repair processes are estimated to be done at 00:35 CST on September
13.
2. Female resident in Yilan county (Yue-May Lin-Tsao, 57 years old) are blown to the
ground from 3rd floor according to currently released news at 10:45 on
September 13. After proven by emergency operating center, this resident fell
accidentally during preparation against typhoon and had been sent to Rodun
hospital and is now have no vital danger. This accident does not count as human
life damage for this typhoon by Yilan county emergency operating center.
3.
Two residents from Renai county (male, Funze Chang and female, Zenrun Chou)
were reported to be lost during mountain hiking at 15:45 on September 12 and
had been found ankle-sprained at 10:30 on September 13. This accident does not
count as human life damage for this typhoon by Nantou county emergency
operating center.
4. Vehicle of a resident (Chiyao Wu, male, 21 years old) bumped to the bridge fence
and fell under bridge in XueJia Town of Tainan County at 00:34 on September 13
due to drunken driving. This accident does not count as human life damage for
this typhoon by Tainan county emergency operating center because the accident
was not caused by typhoon.
