Col. Prof. Dariusz Kozerawski, Ph.D. hab. (habilitatus) – acting Rector-Commandant of National Defense University in Warsaw (since 2014); vice Rector of NDU for Military Affairs and International Cooperation (2013-2014); Head of the Chair of Strategy and Geostrategy (2008-2013), Head of the Chair of European Studies (2007-2008) and Professor of National Defense University. He is a graduate of the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Mechanized Infantry Military Academy (1989), the University of Wroclaw (1995). He was awarded the doctoral degree at University of Wroclaw (2000); post-doctoral degree (professorship) in humanities at University of Wroclaw (2006) and the title of professor in humanities (2013). His area of expertise includes international security, military history, conflict studies and security strategy. He is an author and co-author of over 180 publications in Poland and abroad, including books: International Peace Operations. Planning, Tasks, Conditions, and Techniques (2003); The Polish Armed Forces Units’ Participation in the International Peace Operations 1973-2003 (2004); The Polish Soldiers’ Preparation for International Exercises, and Peace and Stability Operations 1953-2004 (2004); Higher Military Education in Poland 1947-1967 (2005); The National Security and Uniformed Groups (2005); Peace and Counterterrorism Operations in international security assurance process 1948-2004 (2006); The Uniformed Groups of the Polish Society (2006); The International Combat and Peace Operations in the Mountains – 20th and 21st Century Lessons Learned. He is a member of EuroAtlantic Conflict Studies Working Group of the PfP Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes, the Friends of History Society, the Society of Military Historians and Military History Working Group, Society of Polish Geopolitics. Conducting his research on international security, military history, conflict studies and security strategy, professor Dariusz Kozerawski has participated in international trainings, courses, exercises, peace and stability operations in: Afghanistan, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Great Britain, Hungary, Iraq, Jordan, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Germany, Moldova, Oman, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the United States, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. He realized fieldworks in zones of war and stabilization activities (Bosnia and Herzegovina 1998-1999; Moldavia - 2006; Iraq - 2008, 2014; Afghanistan 2009, 2012; Kosovo - 2012). He has taken part in seminars, conferences, given the papers in European universities and military academies (NDC Rome, BDCol Tartu, Amman, Athens, Brno, Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Hamburg, Helsinki, Kiev, Liptovski Mikulaś, Ljubljana, Sofia, Tashkent, Vienna) in Canada (McGill, Ottawa University) and in fames Polish universities (Jagiellonian, Warsaw, Wrocław and Poznań). In 2010 and 2012 he led international seminars in the European Parliament in Luxemburg (EU global security; The Arab Spring – interpretations, results and strategic perspectives). In 2014 he was the head of NATO DEEP team in Iraq. He is a member of V-4 Educational Platform and Central European Forum of Military Education.
