“GIFT” Growing in the Faith Together is a 6 evening once a week programme we hope
to run in the parish before Christmas. It is for all those who were confirmed in 6th Class
last spring and are now in 1st year Secondary School. If you would like to help to
facilitate this young peoples Faith Formation Programme please contact Fr John for

Partry afterschool Service are having a bag packing day in Tesco Ballinrobe Friday 24th
October to raise much needed funds for our afterschool care.

A Big Thank You to all who helped out in the planning and successful outcome of the
Church Redecorating at Tuar Mhic Éadaigh. Thanks especially for all the volunteer help
to put the furnishing back in place. Extra bits of woodwork, polishing, cleaning etc.
Great credit to all involved.
The ‘Handel Challenge’ choir of local choristers, along with top soloists and
orchestra will again perform Handel’s Messiah on November 2nd in the Church of
Holy Rosary, Castlebar in aid of Mayo Mental Health Association and
Mayo/Roscommon Hospice. Tickets (€25) now on sale at both Hospice Shops and
Downtown Records Castlebar and Westport and at Mayo Mental Health office. Don’t
miss out on this truly amazing night
Do you want to prevent Suicide and become suicide alert? Safetalk is a 4 hour course
which does just that. To attend this course you must be over 18yrs. Contact Lizzie by

on Esker Retreat Centre and is free of charge and will take place Mon 10th November @

Volunteer Overseas Next Summer with SERVE: Are you interested in volunteering
overseas next summer for a month or do you know someone that might be? SERVE is an
Irish development organisation, which works in partnership with the Redemptorists to
support vulnerable communities in the developing world. An Information Evening will be
held at the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris at 8pm on Friday, October 24th. Further

The Transition Year students of Coláiste Muire, Tuar Mhic Éadaigh are hosting a
Halloween festival in the school on Thursday the 23rd of October from 7.00 – 9.00.
Events on the night include, Halloween storytelling, traditional Halloween games,
orienteering, a best costume competition and a disco for the children. Admission prices:
€5 – one child, Adults – free of charge.

Pope Francis – A Prophet of our Time?
For many people our present Pope is bringing a new and fresh look at the Good News of
Scripture into the everyday reality of people’s lives. A presentation / discussion group on
his approach to Faith will be held in the Family Centre at 8 pm on Wednesday 29th
October next. All welcome. The presenter is the well known excellent communicator Fr.
Colm Kilcoyne.
