Look What We’re Learning …
This week’s story is Armadillo’s Orange
by Jim Arnosky. The story is about an
armadillo who needs a little help from
his friends in the orange groove to find
his way back home.
The amazing words for the week are;
armadillo, burrow, tortoise, rattlesnake,
grubs, and insects.
Please review the sight words; have, is,
one, two, three, four, and five.
The letter/sound of the week is Ss.
The reading comprehension focus skill
of the week is setting and we will learn
about proper nouns.

This week in Math we will continue
Chapter 2; Compare Numbers to 5.
In this chapter students will be
exploring number sense concepts by
comparing numbers and groups using
the words less than, great than,
fewer, more and same as.
This week we will continue to read
and learn about food chains.
Students are learning about the
relationships of plants and animals in
an ecosystem.

informational letter inside the Data
Notebook and contact me with any
questions.
Please color the Book IT Calendar
when your child reads each night. This
will take the place of signing the agenda
and your child will win a YUMMY prize
at the end of the month.
