should be “fitted” to the sheet after it is printed. No choke or spread is necessary. If the job requires a coated halftone
pattern/image, it is recommended that an 85-line screen be provided at a 45-degree angle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Notes:
1) Inks, coatings, and varnishes must be free of wax, silicone and other “slip” agents.
2) Metallic inks, pearlescent inks and foils are not recommended for UV coating
3) Web printed sheets should be tested for wax content before coating.
4) Reflex blue, Rhodamine red and any color mixed from them should be avoided.
5) Spray powder will greatly reduce the gloss, do not use wax coated spray powder.
6) Kromekote stock must be wax-free waterbase coated and may yellow over time.
7) If coating is to be done over film lamination, it must be a coatable film lamination.
UV Cured Screen Effects
In addition to spot UV coating, our Sakurai press adds the following to DGF’s capabilities:
Glitter Coating
Dyna-Frost
Glow-in-the-Dark
Thermochromic Ink
Dyna-Crylic coating
Production Notes
Glitter Coating
1.) Standard sizes are 4 mil and 8 mil particles.
2.) “Disco” glitter is our standard glitter. It is a holographic flake that reflects light.
3.) It is recommended that glitter be placed over darker printed areas to better bring out their color and
intensity.
4.) Due to the thickness of the UV, some discoloring may occur in lighter areas if exposed to strong UV light
sources.
5.) It is recommended that glitter UV not be applied to areas that will be scored, folded, or cut. The coating
should be cut back at least 1/8”.
6.) Dynamic can film laminate over glitter coating.
Dyna-Frost
1.) It is recommended that Dyna-Frost coating not be applied to areas that will be scored, folded, or cut. The
coating should be cut back at least 1/8”.
Glow-in-the-Dark
1.) Has much better “Glow” properties over lighter printed areas – darker printed areas do not reflect the light
under the coating as well.
2.) The material is yellow green in color and is visible in light.
3.) It is recommended that Glow-in-the-Dark coating not be applied to areas that will be scored, folded, or
cut. The coating should be cut back at least 1/8”.
Thermochromic
1.) Requires 3-week lead time for material.
2.) It is recommended that Thermochromic coating not be applied to areas that will be scored, folded, or cut.
The coating should be cut back at least 1/8”.
3.) This coating is opaque until it is activated by heat at which point it becomes clear. When it returns to
ambient room temperature, it becomes opaque again.
4.) Due to temperature sensitivity, this material is volatile in nature and testing should be conducted prior to
actual manufacture.
5.) It is recommended that the coating be applied over light colored areas or subjects as darker printed areas
are more difficult to see through the coating.
Dyna-Crylic
1.) This is a very thick coating that emulates embossing without the deboss that occurs one side of the stock
during the embossing process.
2.) It is recommended that Dyna-Crylic not be applied to areas that will be scored, folded, or cut.
The coating should be cut back at least 1/8”.
Any PMS color can be printed with the thickest ink film available from any printing process. In addition, that elusive
“third dimension” can be opened-up through the use of textures, and other special effects. Feel free to contact our
Customer Service or Estimating Departments as Dynamic is eager to accept the challenge making your printed piece
stand above all others.
