Thanks so much for putting Red Nose Day 2015 in your diary. We are looking forward to you
joining our mission.
We have written a letter to parents for you to edit and use as you wish, but if your parents
want to know more about Red Nose Day and why it’s so brilliant that your school is taking
part, here are some fab facts for you.
What is Red Nose Day?
 Red Nose Day is a fundraising event run by Comic Relief which takes places every
two years
 Comic Relief is a UK charity, which aims to create a just world, free from poverty
 Last Red Nose Day the UK public raised an astonishing £100.3million to help people
living incredibly tough lives both here in the UK and Africa
We’re taking part in Red Nose Day 2015 because:
 Pupils learn valuable life skills and it helps to build school cohesion
 Pupils gain understanding and empathy for others in the world
 Our school can really make a difference to people’s lives
Did you know…
 In Zambia, £1 could buy pens and pencils for an orphaned girl to last an entire school
year, helping her make the most of her opportunity to learn
 £10 could buy a school uniform for a child living on the streets of Ghana, which they
need to go to school so they can get vital skills and work towards a brighter future
Don’t forget you can spread the word about your school taking part in Red Nose Day in other
ways too – why not send our press release out to your local newspapers, set up a Facebook
group or tweet about what you are doing?
