Reading progress is also good, the recent Reading Eggs homework and focus on comprehension skills in class is having a positive impact in all year groups. WINTER PE KIT Children should wear jogging bottoms and a jumper for outdoor PE session. Trainers are also essential for outdoor lessons. INSTAGRAM WARNING More and more children are having access to smart phones that access the internet. These phones are often not set up to have parental controls on them. In a matter of two clicks your child can be accessing very inappropriate material and be chatting with/sharing information with strangers. The Metropolitan Police have sent a letter to all schools reminding parents about the alarming trend in children sharing information on Instagram, including children uploading images of themselves which can then be shared across the whole site. I am asking you to discuss with your child how they keep themselves safe when using their smart phone and how they use social media sites. We have information about e-safety on our school website and the police have information on internet safety on http://ceop.police.uk/ It is a brilliant site, click on the Parents section and there is a great section on how to block inappropriate material and how to discuss these issues with your child.
