Peer Recognition Policy
<Company Name> believes that when staff put in the extra effort to go above and beyond the
expectations of their job to help the company succeed, this effort should be recognized.
Recognition should not just come from Supervisors and Managers; it can also come from peers
and co-workers. The Peer Recognition Program has been created to allow employees to
nominate co-workers to be recognized for their outstanding contribution. Awards will be handed
out <quarterly, semi-annually, annually, randomly> to deserving employees, as recognized and
nominated by their peers. Employees who nominated award winners will also be eligible for
awards.
Peer recognition helps employees co-operate towards a common goal, show their appreciation,
and create a positive, productive working environment. To nominate a co-worker or team for
this special award, employees should submit a Peer Recognition Award Nomination Form <from
Human Resources, their Supervisor or Manager, other designated individual >. Once
completed, the form should be submitted to <Human Resources, their Supervisor or Manager,
other designated individual>.
Every <3 months, 6 months, year, at various times during the year>, submissions will be
reviewed by a selection panel, made up of management and employees, who will determine
winners. In addition to the specific reason for nomination, as outlined by the nominator, the
selection panel takes many factors into consideration when choosing an employee or team for
this award, including: productivity, quality, overall performance levels, attendance, health and
safety practices, <other>, etc.
Awards will include <cash bonus, engraved plaques, gift certificates, Peer Recognition pens,
mugs, t-shirts, lunch with the President/CEO/Owner, other>.
