83/01/RJ FORCE NOMINATED FOR DIVERSITY AWARDS The force has been nominated for two awards at the prestigious British Diversity Awards ceremony to be announced at a formal ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Bayswater London on Wednesday 14 November 2001. Force Diversity Development Adivisor Kathy Anderson has been shortlisted in the category 'Best Diversity Officer' and Chief Constable David Kenworthy is nominated for the 'AHM-UK's Top Trendsetters Award.' The 'Best Diversity Officer' award is designed to recognise hardworking staff with a responsibility for equality/diversity matters, and Kathy Anderson says: "I am delighted to be nominated and shortlisted as it gives me a great deal of encouragement that my work and that of my colleagues in North Yorkshire Police is being recognised." David Kenworthy said: "I am justifiably proud of the tremendous steps forward that the force has taken on diversity issues and these nominations reflect not only on the work of individuals but also reflect the attitudes and thinking within the whole organisation."
