The Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Patras is organizing Erasmus Intensive
Language Courses (EILCs) again this summer. The EILCs are applicable to Erasmus
students and Comenius Assistants.

We would be grateful if you could inform your prospective Erasmus students and urge them
to attend our Greek Language and Civilization courses.

ERASMUS INTENSIVE LANGUAGE COURSES
(EILCS 2013)
The Foreign Language Center of the T.E.I of Patras organises Greek
Language courses, Level I (Beginners) from 26 August 2013 to 30
September 2013, under the limits of Erasmus Intensive Language Courses
(LLP/ EILCs 2013).
It is a challenge to prove it is quite easy to speak and understand Modern
Greek within a month!
Three independent courses are arranged using English as an intermediary
language. Linguistic support is also provided by our staff in German and
French.

The course is designed for anyone wishing to start learning Greek. Small
groups will consist of 15 students maximum. The language course is
based on teaching methods which consist of lessons in written and oral
Greek, grammar and the introduction to the Greek way of life. Modern
technologies in language teaching will be employed.
At the end of the course the students will be able to communicate in oral
and written Greek at quite satisfactory level.
Level I: Beginners
Duration: 5 weeks, 5 hours per day (100 teaching hours in total).

You can combine holidays in Greece with language studies!
ACCOMMODATION
The organizing committee can help the course attendants to get
accommodation in apartments rented by the T.E.I. for its students. Prices
vary from 200-250€ per month.
Meals will be provided to the students at the T.E.I. restaurant, for a
minimal charge of 5,5 euro per day ( 3 meals included). The organizing
committee will make efforts to secure at least two (2) free meals for all
EILCs students, at the courtesy of the TEI restaurant.
The participants will be welcomed at the Institute, at the TEI Conference
Room, Central Administration Building, on 26th August, between 11.00
a.m. and 13.00 p.m.

required for your convenience.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE COURSE
The lessons will be held from Monday to Friday.
Maximum number of students: 15 students in each class. Assessment will
take place in the end of the course as well as in- between evaluations.
A certificate providing students with 6 ECTS credits will be issued to all
those who will regularly attend the course.
Apart from local guided tours, excursions to archaeological sites
(Delphi, Olympia, Acropolis, Epidaurus) and other places of historical
and natural beauty will be arranged during week-ends, such as a 2-day
trip to the exotic island of Spetses, a trip to the island Zakynthos, a trip
to the ski resort in Kalavryta, a trip to the picturesque city of Galaxidi
and Nafpaktos.
Social and cultural events will be organized by the committee for
anyone who wishes to join.
