Thank you for subscribing to the 2012 Standard Federal Tax Reporter. It is the reference most widely used by today’s tax practitioners and the only comprehensive source that is annually revised.

If you are receiving a complete set of binders, your shipment consists of three cartons.

If you are expecting compilations only and reusing your binders, your shipment consists of two cartons.

Cartons may arrive up to five business days apart, so please keep an eye out for each of them.

Once you have received all three cartons, please refer to the set-up instructions at the end of this letter.

The 2012 edition of the Standard Federal Tax Reporter is fully revised to reflect thousands of annotations of court decisions, rulings, and other developments issued since the last edition. New developments issued after the volumes went to press are reported as Current Development documents. The explanations are fully revised to incorporate important new developments.

New regulations, including proposed regulations, are provided in the compilation volumes during the year as they are released and the first reports for 2012 will provide you with regulations that were issued after the 2012 edition went to press. Explanations are continuously updated to reflect new regulations issued during the reporting year.

Report 0

We are committed to providing you with the most up-to-date information available, and as a result, we are including a Report 0 with the initial shipment of the Standard Federal Tax Reporter .

This update contains material reflecting important developments issued after the volumes went to press. Report 0 needs to be filed before Report 1 is filed. Report 1 will be mailed on December

29, 2011.

If you are reusing your 2011 binders, please RETAIN all volumes. Using the enclosed stickers in the envelope marked “Replacement Labels For Binders,” label appropriate volumes. Insert appropriate shrink-wrapped packets labeled by volume.

If you have purchased a single 2012 New Matters Volume, follow the above instructions.

A new volume 19 binder is included with this shipment, so you can retain your 2011 New

Matters for future reference.

If you have ordered new binders for the 2012 Index and 2012 Volumes 1–19, please RETAIN the following for use with your 2012 volumes:
