Reflections for Integrity

Forever endure
A
s time goes by, some things in life become faded, feeble and useless. Yet the things that
truly matter just keep getting stronger and more meaningful.
When you invest all your hope and love in the superficial things that will soon fade away, then
you make time your enemy. You become engaged in a battle that you cannot win.
Yet when you cherish life's true, enduring values, your opportunities for joy grow more abundant
with each passing moment. As life goes forward, it cannot help but get better.
When you find your fulfillment in truth, in virtue, and in integrity, you set yourself up to gain
real value and benefit from every experience. Though life may not always go as you planned or
desired, you will always have something real and meaningful to show for it.
For every situation is a situation in which your integrity can grow stronger. Every experience is
an experience in which a new and valuable truth is revealed.
Life always has so very much to offer. Treasure those things that forever endure, and your store
of treasure will be rich indeed. -- Ralph Marston
The way to build
T
he way to build endurance is to endure. The way to build confidence at doing anything is to
practice doing it.
The way to build a friendship is by being a friend. The way to build trust is by being trustworthy.
The way to build wealth is by creating and providing value. The way to build a reputation for
integrity is by being sincere and honest.
The way to build a life of meaning and fulfillment is by honoring and valuing every moment.
The way to build a future that's bright is by making the most of all you have in the present.
The way to build strength is by welcoming challenge. The way to build wisdom is by exercising
your mind and your heart together.
The way to build true greatness is by living with positive purpose and passion. The way to build
whatever you want is to give the best of whatever you have. -- Ralph Marston
Far and wide
T
he positive actions you take do not stop with you. Many of them go on and on, far beyond
you, to people and places you will never know about.
The value you create does not end with you. It sets the stage for more positive value, and then for
even more value on top of that.
Somewhere today, someone's life has just been made better because of a positive action you have
taken in the past. In some way today, the world is becoming a better place because of something
you did, weeks, months or even years ago.
You can never know or control how far and wide your actions will extend. You can, however,
control the nature of those actions.
The more love, kindness and thoughtfulness you put into your actions, the more positively those
actions will multiply and radiate out into the world. Put the best of yourself into all you do, and
your own unique value will be spread far and wide.
The influence you have on life is immensely greater than it may appear on the surface. Live each
moment with goodness, truth and integrity, and in more ways than you can possibly know, you'll
be making the world a better place. -- Ralph Marston
Fill your moments
F
ill your moments with action, and there will be little time left for worry. Fill your moments
with meaning, and there will be little time left for despair.
Fill your days with discovery, and you will fill your life with valuable knowledge. Fill your
hours with caring, compassion and respect, and you will fill your world with love and friendship.
Fill your thoughts with positive possibilities, and the best things in life will surely be within your
reach. Fill your words with encouragement and enthusiasm, and you'll often find people and
circumstances lining up in your favor.
Fill your efforts with purpose, persistence, diligence and integrity. And your life will be filled
with valuable achievements.
Fill your heart with a love of truth and goodness. And your soul will be filled with the treasure of
wisdom.
Your life is a most precious gift. Fill every corner of it with the best that you can. – Ralph
Marston
Integrity
W
hen you respect, treasure and maintain it, it can bring enormous value to whatever you set
out to accomplish. It is your integrity, and it is very much worth the effort you spend to keep it
intact.
For if you compromise your integrity to get ahead, you'll severely limit how far you can go. If
you give up your integrity in exchange for anything else, you will always be on the losing end of
the bargain.
The compromise of integrity is its own worst punishment, and is a price that is never worth
paying. The worth of integrity cannot be calculated, because it adds value to everything you do.
There will come moments when you'll be tempted to take a shortcut, moments when it will seem
foolish to hold on so steadfastly to your integrity. But deep down you know that the day will
come when that integrity will be worth far more to you than anything for which you could trade
it away.
One day you'll reach a bridge that can only be crossed if your integrity is intact. One day you'll
come upon an opportunity that can be yours only if you have arrived at it with integrity.
Live each moment with integrity, with whole and genuine positive purpose. All the while you'll
be building something of real, lasting value. -- Ralph Marston
Reflecting back
T
his day will reflect back to you the thoughts and feelings you have about how it is going.
The world will reflect back to you the expectations you have of how it will be.
The people you encounter will reflect your attitude back to you. The situations you come across
will reflect your own perspective back to you.
The shortcomings you notice in others are reflecting similar things within yourself. The beauty
you see around you is a reflection of the beauty that is a part of you.
The problems you encounter out there can be most effectively addressed by first considering
what they reflect within you. The opportunities out there can best be grasped by first connecting
with the part of you that they reflect.
Be your best, and life will be too. Live with integrity, a generous spirit, a positive enthusiasm,
and the world will reflect it all back to you.
What you experience is a reflection of who you are. Nurture the value and goodness inside you,
and the reflection will be magnificent indeed. -- Ralph Marston
