General Description (Purpose and Function):
Assists in cleaning, cutting, shaping, inspecting, and packaging tissues for transplantation. Complies with the quality
assurance requirements and quality system goals of the bank as mandated by federal, state, and trade regulations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:












Prepares operating room and processes room procedures.
Prepares aseptic processing, environmental set-up including all equipment supplies and monitors sterile rooms.
Processes all allografts for clinical such as bone, soft tissues, skin, autografts, tracheas and other tissues as
instructed.
Prepares and preserves of all types of bone for cutting and shaping into allografts.
Assists with tissue storage, control-rate freezing, placement of specimens into freezers (mechanical and liquid
nitrogen), packaging equipment, monitors equipment temperature, lyophilization.
Prepares engineered allografts on equipment.
Handles decalcification of bone as applicable per standard Operating Policies.
Prepares osteoarticular bone allografts.
Identifies allografts and produces radiographs of the same.
Responsible for all data entry and completion of paperwork.
Processes allografts including cleaning of extraneous tissues and cutting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate well.
 Familiarity and knowledge of information contained in the Tissue Bank Manuals.
Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
 High School education.
Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):
 Two years experience in Tissue Banking, Operating Room or manufacturing environment.
