Job Description Job title: Temporary Teaching Fellow (full time, fixedterm of 24 weeks) in Infection and Immunity Department: Biology and Biochemistry Grade: 7 Location: Department of Biology and Biochemistry , Building 4 South, Claverton Down, University of Bath BA2 7AY Job purpose The purpose of this 24 week fixed-term post is to teach undergraduate and post graduate students registered in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry in the areas of Molecular Immunology and Protein Biochemistry. This position arises due to the award of University sabbatical leave to Dr Jean van den Elsen and Prof Ed Feil. The teaching and learning environment within the Department includes a range of activities from standard “lectures” delivered to both large (> 75 students) and small classes of students, through practicals and lab-based project environment to small-group tutorials involving just a few students . The Department places great value on quality of teaching as determined by a combination of peer assessment of good practice, student achievement, and good student feedback. We will endeavour to support the candidate in delivering high-quality teaching. Source and nature of management provided Dr Chris Todd, Director of Teaching Staff management responsibility N/A Main duties and responsibilities Page 1 1 2 Plan and deliver topics within units in areas related to protein characterisation, enzyme mechanisms, infection and immunity, molecular immunology, data interpretation and medical biochemistry. Participate in a five residential field course in Gower, South Wales.
